SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Learn the Biblical Truth About Spiritual Battles—and How to Win Them.

Spiritual Warfare: The Basics Every Christian Must Know

Imagine this—you fast three days a week, pray for six hours a day, yet the enemy still seems to have the upper hand. Sounds impossible, right? That was my reality just a few years ago. Each night, I found myself under relentless spiritual attack—witches, warlocks, unclean spirits, and demonic forces. It was tormenting. But it was also the beginning of my training in true spiritual warfare.

You may ask, “How can that be?” The answer is simple: you can’t win a battle you don’t understand. And without a solid foundation in the basics of spiritual warfare, even the most spiritual believers can be defeated.

Why Most Christians Lose the Battle

Consider Israel. After their miraculous victory at Jericho, they marched confidently against the small city of Ai—and suffered a devastating defeat. Why? There was sin in the camp (Joshua 7). In spiritual warfare, unrepented sin gives the enemy legal access to your life.

This might sound basic, but many skip this crucial truth in pursuit of “deeper” warfare. Yet without holiness, your spiritual weapons are useless.

🛡️ “He that keeps himself, the wicked one touches him not.” – 1 John 5:18

What Is Spiritual Warfare?

Spiritual warfare is the unseen conflict between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. While invisible, its effects are very real.

So, how do you know if you’re under spiritual attack? Compare your life with God’s promises in His Word:

  • 😨 Do you live in fear? → God has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Tim. 1:7)
  • 🛏️ Are you constantly sick and unable to recover? → By His stripes, you are healed (Isa. 53:5)
  • 🙏 Do you struggle to pray or fast?
  • 📖 Do you fall asleep every time you try to read the Bible?
  • 😠 Are you constantly angry, depressed, or defeated?

This list isn’t exhaustive, but if your reality consistently contradicts the Word of God, you’re already in a battle—and possibly losing.

You’re Not Powerless—You’re Just Untrained

Don’t be discouraged. The good news is, you are not powerless. You just haven’t been trained yet. And that’s why EdifyMe exists—to equip believers like you to fight and win.

The Bible says:

“Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” – 2 Corinthians 10:3–4

“I fight, not as one beating the air.” – 1 Corinthians 9:26

God has given us a full set of spiritual weapons:

  • 🗡️ Sword of the Spirit (Word of God)

  • 🪖 Helmet of Salvation

  • 🛡️ Shield of Faith

  • 🦺 Breastplate of Righteousness

  • 🩹 Belt of Truth

  • 👟 Shoes of the Gospel of Peace

Like a trained soldier, you must learn how to use these weapons effectively. That’s what we’ll explore together, step by step.

My Testimony: Victory Over the Spirit of Death

When I began learning the basics of spiritual warfare, battles that once seemed impossible began to shift. I remember a dream where my wife was lying asleep, and I was desperately trying to wake her because we were under attack. No matter what I did, she wouldn’t respond—it was as if she were dying.

When I awoke, I immediately sensed that we were truly under spiritual attack. My wife and I began praying together, speaking in tongues for a while, yet the enemy’s presence remained. Then, the Lord instructed me to pray what seemed like a simple but specific prayer:

“Lord, You said in Your Word that the number of our days you shall fulfill (Exodus 23:26). Your Word declares that the days of man are seventy years, and by strength, eighty (Psalm 90:10). My wife and I have not yet reached those years. I ask You now to cancel the assignment of untimely death.”

As soon as I finished praying, the Lord told me to ask my wife what she saw. She replied, “When you prayed that prayer, it was like the Lord opened my eyes. I saw the spirit of death in our home. And after you prayed, he got up, walked out, and shut the door behind him.”

Praise be to God—we had the victory through Jesus Christ!

Final Word: You Can Win

God didn’t call you to be defeated. He called you to conquer:

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” – Romans 8:37

If you’ve been losing the battle, it’s not because the enemy is stronger—it’s because you haven’t been equipped yet.

But that changes now.
